Urinary Incontinence After Delivery
JANDOVÁ, Markéta
The bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of urinary incontinence in women after childbirth. The thesis is composed of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis describes the anatomy and physiology of the urinary tract and micturition. Furthermore, attention is paid to urinary incontinence, its classification, risk factors, diagnosis, and incontinence aids. Finally, the treatment of urinary incontinence is briefly summarized. One goal was set for the practical part of the bachelor thesis. To determine the frequency of urinary incontinence in women who have had their last childbirth 2-15 years ago. Five hypotheses were formulated for this goal. H1: Women who suffered from obesity during childbirth (body mass index equal to or greater than 30.0) do not suffer from urinary incontinence after childbirth more often than women who did not suffer from obesity during childbirth. H2: Women who gave birth to a child with a birth weight over 3,500 g suffer from urinary incontinence more often than women who gave birth to a child with a birth weight under 3,500 g. H3: Women after vacuum extraction or forceps delivery do not suffer from urinary incontinence more often than women who did not give birth using these methods. H4: Women who had birth injuries do not suffer from urinary incontinence more often than women who did not have any injuries during childbirth. H5: Women who gave birth more than 8 years ago were less educated about urinary incontinence by the midwife than women who gave birth less than eight years ago. The goal was achieved through a quantitative research survey using their own online questionnaires. The questionnaire contained 21 questions. Sixteen questions were closed, three semi-closed questions where it was possible to mark more answers including "other:" and two open questions. Statistical processing of all questionnaires took place in Microsoft Excel. The research sample consisted of 393 women who gave birth to their last child more than two years ago and no more than fifteen years ago. Of the total of 393 respondents, 217 women reported experiencing urinary leakage and 176 women reported no urinary leakage. The research survey showed that more than half of the respondents, i.e. women 2-15 years after childbirth, experience urinary leakage. It was also found that women are very poorly educated about this issue by the midwife. Of the total of five hypotheses, only hypotheses H1, H3, and H4 were confirmed. Hypotheses H2 and H5 were not confirmed. No dependence was demonstrated for any of the hypotheses. It was found that the level of information was the same for women who gave birth less than eight years ago and for women who gave birth more than eight years ago, and it was very low.
The role of the nurse in patients with urinary incontinence
PONERTOVÁ, Magdaléna
Urinary incontinence is a common disease that is often underestimated. Patient education is very important for early detection of possible complications in patients with urinary incontinence. The bachelor's thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the anatomy and physiology of the lower urinary tract, general information about urinary incontinence, examination methods, treatment, the nurse's role, prevention, education, and finally the most common nursing diagnoses are mentioned. The aim of the empirical part was to find out what the nurse's role is in patients with urinary incontinence, what nursing diagnoses nurses make in patients with urinary incontinence, and what incontinence aids nurses use in nursing care for patients with urinary incontinence. The research was focused on nurses working in the urology department, namely in the ambulatory department, the inpatient department and the Intensive Care Unit. In total, three research questions were established for this research. The research investigation was carried out in the form of semi-structured interviews. The research group consisted of 10 nurses. From the obtained data, it was found that the role of the nurse in the ambulatory part of the urology department, the standard inpatient department and the Intensive Care Unit is different. Furthermore, the research showed that nurses in the Intensive Care Unit do not instruct patients and do not give patients information about the possibilities of using compensatory aids. We also found out that nurses in the ambulatory part of the urology department cannot hand out information brochures to patients without a doctor's indication. On the other hand, the nurses of the inpatient wards can hand out information brochures at their discretion. At the same time, nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit have a smaller number of information brochures at their disposal and only hand them to patients if the patient shows interest. Furthermore, we found that very few nurses make nursing diagnoses. The output of the bachelor thesis is an informative brochure. It can be beneficial not only for nurses and students of medical fields, but also for patients, who can raise awareness about the problem of urinary incontinence.

Additionally the paper describes the mechanism of developing stress urinary incontinence in women and theoretically demonstrates physiotherapy for the stress incontinence. The practical part contains physiotherapeutic methodology with introduced exercise examples, which impact pelvic area. Furthermore a group of exercises suitable for women during pregnancy and after childbirth orientated on the incontinence prevention is shown. The thesis includes two casuistics, kinesiological analysis, physiotherapy description, short and long term plan and exercise results. Pastor, Zlatko ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Halaška, Michael (referee) ; Raboch, Jiří (referee)
Aim: This study was designed to examine the influence of female urinary incontinence on development of sexual dysfunctions. By means of the questionnaire investigation we inquired how often and how the sexual behaviour and response were modified. Our goal was to determine the prevalence of coital incontinence, describe the most common sexual disorders and to find out how women deal with the urinary incontinence in a partner relationship and how such situations are resolved. Attention was given to the interests of health care professionals in this area, the quality of their communication with patients, effect and satisfaction with therapy. Research sample: The study included 106 women with urinary incontinence (aged 30-44 years and 44-59 years). Characteristics of their sexual behaviour were compared between the two age groups and in relation to assessed diagnosis. Changes in sexual behaviour were evaluated both in relation to the population group who were a part of representative research study of Czech women in 2008 and control group of 112 healthy women of comparable age. Material and methods: To describe and analyze sexual dysfunction in incontinent women, we used a modified version of sexological questionnaire from the research study of Weiss and Zverina and two international validated...

Urinary Inkontinence as a Stress Faktor on Seniors- Women
MARŠÍKOVÁ, Jana
Abstract Urinary incontinence is involuntary leakage of urine, which causes medical, psychological, social and hygienic problems. Incontinence is a common problem of senior age and influences all fields of women´s life. Almost every senior woman has some kind of experience with this issue, either personal or linked to someone she knows. This thesis deals with causes of incontinence origin, its diagnostics and treatment possibilities. The aim was to find out whether incontinence influences mental condition of senior women and if so, in which way the problems connected with the incontinence are present. The thesis further examines how senior women cope with information about their problems, whether they have sufficient information and whether the information is understandable. It is also important to know what the modern-day options for treatment of this problem are, and whether senior women are willing to undergo the procedures and examinations. The thesis also deals with the question whether senior women have sufficiency of incontinency aids, whether they are satisfied with the nursing care and whether their privacy during sanitation is satisfactory. The survey shows that senior women are stressed by urine leakage, they reduce their activities, socially isolate themselves, are dissatisfied with the quantity of the incontinency aids, limit the fluid intake. The finding, that senior women are not much interested in receiving more information, in further detailed examinations, or in pelvic muscle rehabilitation, was surprising. It has been proven that doctors offer mainly pharmacological and compensational treatment to senior women. Regarding the privacy issue, it has been proven that senior women are satisfied with the nursery care and have adapted to the lack of privacy. It resulted from the survey that nurses do not have enough professional information for education of senior women. Elaboration of a new educational plan for the Senior House clients and nurses working in the facility is the output of this thesis.
